Some steel and a welder, viola! Portable gong. This is a 10" 3/8 thick gong. I also made a different/wider crossbar with (2) 8" and (1) 4" gong. The cross bars just slide into a slightly bigger sleeve and bolt tight. I've used it at 25 yards with 9, 40 and 45 cals and 100 yards with my AR. Works great.

The only bad thing is using chains to hang your gong. Some people use old fire hoses or rubber mud flaps from trucks cut into wide strips. Anything that's cheap or free and that at withstand a few misplaced shots.Comment

Nice job.
As said, the chains are the weak points. Bring extra, or consider alternatives.https://www.activejunky.com/invite/132380

My chains got tagged by almost every newb that wanted to shoot at my steel plates and I got tired of swapping out chains/hooks/bolts etc..
I switched to $10 rubber welcome mats from WalleyWorld, cut them with a saws-all and made holes through the mats with a hot iron. Presto.
Now if I can keep people from shooting holes in the frame.
Floor mats from auto parts store work just as well.
