Railed Springfield Pro - Is Something Up?

First of all, I am not trying to start any rumor. I am just a little puzzled. So please hear me out.

The Springfield Professional LR is somewhat of a difficult gun to acquire due to its limited production number per year. Current wait time for a new order is months, if not a year or two. Is it then just coincidence that there are at least 3 in the marketplace right now? Some are even NIB per the ad.

I don't care about their asking prices - that is not the point of this thread. I am just wondering if something is up that makes some owners sell them around the same time. Maybe they know something that I (and most regular gunners) don't know?

Simple google search yields nothing unusual, just threads about how wonderful the handgun is, etc. Hence, I wanted to ask my fellow gunners if they can share anything.

    Anything? Thanks.

Buy a Les Baer, readily available and a much better firearm at less the price!

Reading the market and seeing one available was my guess too.

There are no Baer's available in Cali with a rail. The professional is Springfields best offering as far as there custom in house guns go. Not sure I have really read any complaints or issues with them on multiple 1911 forums. Besides, Springfield has CS that will go above and beyond if it were to have any issues.

It's common that people will wait to get one from SA, then sell it for considerably more.

What is a 1-2 year wait time worth to someone if they can have it RIGHT NOW?
We in Bangor, Maine now baby.

Totally unscientific & anecdotal but it seems that a lot of guns show up in waves. Might see a lot of this model or that model and then they're gone. Or like the guy says, maybe I just notice one particular model that I'm looking for.

This makes sense to me. Seems like there is nothing wild going on that I just haven't heard. Maybe it is just me and/or coincidence.

Oh, did I just give it away that I am looking for one? LOL. I am always looking for one, just can't pull the trigger just yet.

                  Thanks.

When you start paying attention to patterns, they magically emerge, from my experience.

I own a Springfield Loaded 1911 and a Les Baer Premier II. Springfield's warranty is worth it. Absolutely awesome customer service. A no-questions asked type of service. They will take your pistol and make it right AND they pay for shipping. Plus, you can get ANY custom work done to it.

Les Baer's warranty is hit or miss (kinda like my shooting skills!). Sometimes it's awesome, sometimes it's a 'shoot 500 more rounds of ammo and maybe I'll look at it'.

That said, my Premier II is my favorite. It just feels right and shoots like all kinds of awesome. My Springfield is very nice, but lacks a certain something. But, I'd rather have a gun that performs flawlessly rather than not.

But, back a bit more on topic to the OP's post, the Springfield Pro is being bought up and then flipped for profit. Pure and simple. Some people buy several at a time and flip them all.

I would not hesitate to buy one if one fell into my lap (pointed in a safe direction of course ) at the right price.

                        Happy shooting and be safe!

I think my pro is fantastic in every way. That being said I got it as an investment.

Are you analyzing the current market on the Springfield Pro?

My analysis on the Pro from the Marketplace concluded as follows:

                            Minimum price = "SPF"
                            Average price = "Sold"
                            Maximum price= "Mod Please delete"
