Firing pins breaking in cz's aren't new, but this was CGW's extending, tool grade steel firing pin. It's often advertised as being immune to breaking during dry fire or prolonged use, so naturally I bought one as I was modifying my entire pistol. Luckily it comes with a lifetime warranty. If anyone has had a similar experience with CZ 75 firing pins breaking (aftermarket or not), you're welcome to chime in and share.

If you make it, we can break it !!! -
UPDATE:
Just got off the phone with David at CGW and I have to say that he's awesome. He's sending me a new firing pin and he didn't so much as ask for proof I broke his Firing Pin, which apparently mines the 4th one to ever break. Go figure. He's definitely getting more of my business.Comment

I broke two extended firing pins from CZ Custom over a two year period. I replaced mine with one from CGW. I read their sales pitch and I was under the impression this would be the last firing pin I would ever need. Not good to hear about one breaking from CGW. My SP-01 has about 8000-10000 rounds through it and a lot more dry firing.Comment

If its man made it will break.
A quick note the CGW firing pin is suppose to be a hair longer than the CZ Customs. I think I will order a backup, just in case. Drive hour, pay big bucks to do a big match, break a firing pin go home pissed. At least with a spare I only drop 1 stage. If you want change you have to put in your 2 cents, you can't just sit on the sidelines and whine.Comment

The note that came with mine stated that if you were doing more that 1000 dry fires per year that they recommended putting an O ring to cover the firing pin so the hammer wouldn't hit it.
I use snap caps so I don't bother with the O ring.
I put in the extended firing pin because I'm using their lower power main spring. As guest1 points out, CGW does say don't use the firing pin with the stock spring.
In the modern vernacular: Bummer, Dude. Glad CGW is making it right for you.Send Lawyers, Guns and Money - On second thought, hold the Lawyers.Comment

What kind of ammo/primers do you regularly use? I'm curious if this happened with standard American ammo or primers? Or have ran Wolf or other ammo known to have hard primers?Comment
