Shot my G43 for the first time today...

Nothing really spectacular about it. Shoots similar to the Shield although I much prefer the stock Glock trigger to the stock Shield trigger or any M&P for that matter. It's very capable much like any Glock. Put 4 boxes of cheap stuff through it. (steel cased tulammo, blazer aluminum, and bulk umc) as well as a box of my preferred carry ammo (Fed HST 147gr JHP). No hiccups so far. I ditched the stock sights for Trijicon HDs and really like them. Might need to grab some HDs for my other carry guns now.

If I could easily get one without the stupid CA premium I would probably buy one to compare to the Shield.

I love my freedom shield though.... All I need is a CCW.

0P, How did it feel shooting the flush mag vs. The pinky extension if you don't mind me asking?

I'm used to carrying and shooting my G26 with the flush mag so the pinky dangle doesn't bother me while shooting. The extended mag does make the grip feel more like a full size gun although I will only use it as the backup mag. I've got +1 and +2 mag extensions on the way from Taran Tactical so I'll likely update once those arrive (whenever that might be).

I got bigger hands more than likely I'll be using the flush as a back up. I'm thinking it'll be a good running/gym bag gun...when I get there.

Glad the 43 is working for you! My money is already spent on two Kahr CW9s (wife and I) and a Walther PPS 9mm I picked up several years ago…
I think that's enough smaller pistols for me...

Having spent a good amount of time of both, if yo can live with the .380 round, the G42 is soft shooting, easy to make headshots out to 25 yards, and smaller

I shot a G43 and my reaction was similar. It's indistinguishable from the Shield except for the trigger.

Personally I feel the Shield controls much better. I actually like the Shield trigger more as well vs the G43 trigger and I'm a huge Glock 19 guy (hate all other M&P triggers)

The S&W BG 380 is more compact and I like that for super discreet carry. I like the G43 when shooting 9mm.

I like the idea of a more compact 9mm than the 26, but I still don't get the adulation for the 43, most likely because it's a Glock and Glock guys have to have Glocks and of course, those of you stuck in the PRC lust after the forbidden fruit. I have been carrying a Shield every day for almost two years now and I really like it and see no need to switch.

I have handled one and while the trigger on them might be a bit better than a Shield, It is still a stock Glock trigger and quite frankly they are really not all that great. It's certainly not enough better for me to be willing to lose the extra round and pay a premium for the privilege.

I would eventually like to put some kind of night sight on mine, but I have too many other priorities getting in the way right now

I bought one, sweet little gun. Accurate, feels good in the hand. I just prefer my 19.
