I realize that Colt is not making the King Cobra anymore. So why has the price on these revolvers more than quadrupled?

its a snake gun, and all snake guns have quadrupled in price and prolly will keep quadruplingComment

Because it has a pony on the frame and "Colt" on the barrel. Cobras are over rated and not nearly as nice as a quality S&W.**** your feelings!Comment

Colt is a very famous American icon and all their original snakes and old series 70s will keep appreciating in value.
I have a 6" SS King Cobra and a 686+ I would say they are about equal, but I prefer to keep the KC if I have to give one up.The wise man said just find your place

The Colt Snake series has a mystique around it that fuels the crazy prices. The current values are definitely not based on scarcity. My friends and family disavow all knowledge of my existence, let alone my opinions.Comment

'mystique' is one word i was initially going to post in reference to the high prices.Comment

Hmmm, same thing happened with the Shelby Cobra... You know, made in very limited numbers years ago, and no longer being made.
It must have something to do with the word "Cobra".Too many hobbies, Too little time.
Mind you, I'm 5'7", 180, with a visible Ab...Comment
