I got this P6 in a trade a couple of years back, finally took it to the range last week and had a bunch of light strikes with it. I guess whoever owned it before me bobbed the hammer and didn't change the springs to heavier. So my question is should I send it to sig or just order a new hammer and replace it myself. As it sits it's not very usable it will give you 3-5 light strikes on a single mag no matter what the ammo is.

Send to Sig for father's day tune up!sigpicOriginally posted by gun toting monkeyboyYou did ask. They were only following your instructions. Next time be a bit more careful in how you phrase your posts. If you give people a straight line like that, this is about the level of response you are bound to get. Just be glad you didn't post "Date this rifle"... Those pictures are usually very disturbing.

I hate dealing with shipping and waiting, just order new hammer and spring and do it yourself.
The wait will be shorter, and the parts around $45.95 for the hammer and $6.95 for the spring at TOP Gun Supply.Last edited by eternoplacer; 06-17-2015, 11:26 PM.Comment

Tell them the problem you're having, ask if they'll replace the part complimentary while it's being serviced.
If you have another Sig in need of a tune-up, you can send both at once and they may cut you a better deal.Comment

Just went to the website all they seem to have is sig Sauer barrels
Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.Comment

TGS (Top Gun Supply) is gtg. i've bought many parts from them over the years without a problem and their reputation is great. you can also pick up original factory OEM grips from TGS @ $22.95 and these grips are not easy to find elsewhere. i keep an extra set for my P225. i suggest you get a set; their ergonomics are great.
rather than getting a P225 hammer, i would most likely begin searching for a used P6 hammer to keep the integrity of the pistol as original; personal preference. as eternoplacer has noted, you can get a hammer (P225) for your P6 @ $45.95 via TGS.

go to the TGS site and choose GUN PARTS at top of page. then choose SIG SAUER PARTS on next page. then choose SIG SAUER GUN PARTS BY MODEL. then choose P225. this will take you to parts that you want to look at and i believe there are about 5 pages of parts.
