Hey gang. So I bought a brand new Beretta M9 about 3 months ago because I wanted a 9mm so I wasn't dumping a couple hundred rounds of .45 at the range every week and I love the pistol. It's iconic from the movies I watched growing up and don't know why it took me so long to buy one. I swapped all the plastic parts out for steel and in te three months have probably dumped around 3500 rounds through it.
Fast forward until recently. I was at the range when I noticed that it wouldn't decock anymore. It didn't take long after taking off the slide that I realized the hammer release was broken off. I called Wilson Combat because they're my go-to for small M9 and 1911 parts and they sent me a new one (part 31).
I guess my question is this. How often can I expect this pesky little bastard to break? Anyone else have this happen? Seems like the factory part was a cast part and I'm not sure if Wilson makes their own or if it's a factory part as well. Any insight on this would be rad. It's not a gun I carry, but I do shoot it a lot and it seems inappropriate for parts like this to break. I got the Beretta because it's different from everything else I own, but if this persists, is rather just get another Glock.... Not like I need another one.
