    Multi-Comp Bushing Compensator,

Anyone have any experiences with these?

I was thinking about getting one for my 1911.

Had one before. Some 1911s are drop in. It helps on the recoil but the front sight turns black after a couple if rounds.

I had one on my 1911 a while back. They work, but not that great. The key to compensate a pistol is to direct all the gas out to the top of the pistol, because the middle hole on the bushing-comp has to be as big as the OD of the barrel, which is much big than the bullet, most of the gas still exit foward.
In short. It does work, but not by much, and it look really cool.

Got one like that years ago. Doesn't do anything as far as I can tell.

I see full drop-in barrel kits, but those are 4 times as much, and I don't want to dish that money upfront now at least.

For me I'd be a fun range toy.

Not sure about a drop in kit working well, but to fully compensate a 1911/2011, it runs about $1k.

I'm fairly new to this, so I'm still doing research.

              Found this the other night:

You know that it has to be fit by a good gunsmith. Gun requires different springs to function. Then you'll have to work up your own reloads to make the comp function properly and those loads are usually over the manufacturer's recommended maximums. It's pretty time consuming and expensive but those people who shoot Open Division in USPSA figure it's worth it

The STI barrel and comp above is for a bull barrel 1911. It also has integrated feed ramp which most standard 1911 are not. To fit that to a standard 1911 you might need to milled out yours frame for the ramp, and change to a different type of recoil spring plug.
