    What's my Colt Python Worth?

Hi all. I have a 1960 Colt Python here with a 4 digit serial number. it has a little holster wear and a trigger shoe in it. Otherwise it is tight and has an outstanding trigger. it's a real nice gun. I have thought about selling it but I just don't know. It's not every day you find a 4 digit Python. So help me out here guys... What is this worth?

Looks like the front sight has been changed as well.
Hard to see all the details in those pics and in the bore/chamber areas.

What else does it have with it??

      Box? Docs?

I would lose the shoe and replace the front sight before selling it.

Pretty Python. Even bubba'd they have good value. I would consider paying over 1000 for yours but would want to see it first and also research what it would take to get it back to original. New front sight, new trigger.

As soon as I can find an allen wrench small enough I'll take the trigger shoe off and see what the original looks like. Yes, the front blade insert has been replaced. I am going to find an original to put back in there as well.
Keep the comments comming. I appreciate the input.
          Thanks.

I'd agree with the $1000 estimate.

And obviously it would be worth more if it was all original and had a shorter barrel. The 6" is the most common.

Damn those are nice looking guns !!!! Wish I would have picked up one of these babies back in the 80's when they first caught my eye.
