Beretta Vertec frame grips

I've owned my 96G Brigadier Elite IA for a few years and have been happy shooting it. I recently sent it back to Wilson Combat for an action tune and a couple of other upgrades which have improved the shooting experience and looks immensely.

At the same time, I decided to give it new grips to go along with the other "tweaks". As any of you who own Vertec framed Beretta's know, there are very few grip choices for this discontinued frame - and those choices were pretty boring.

Then, on the Beretta forum, I found Derek (Max4073) of DS Grips. Specializing in handmade Beretta grips - including Vertec - in a myriad of choices, Derek was a pleasure to work with. He found grip material for me that wasn't a standard offering, and kept in touch throughout the process and made sure the grips were modified for the larger WC mag release. Fair price and excellent work by a sklilled craftsman for rare grip choices.

Just want to show you a couple of examples in dark brown canvas micarta and light/standard brown canvas micarta. Check out the fit and finish.

Wow very nice! I've searched hard and have never found anyone who makes them. Thanks for sharing!

How are they compared to the stock vertec grips as far as thickness goes? I really don't want anything thicker that would make the grip larger.

The plain micarta like these are $80.00/set. He has a variety of wood and micarta choices (not all are shown, I was able to order canvas micarta not on his website - and he offered several color choices in canvas), plus inserts and grip panels available - I would suggest you browse his site & email Derek for a quote. You'll get a very prompt response.

The plain canvas micarta I have are thinner than factory grips - Derek even commented how nice it was to work with this material "I did get them really thin and I really like the material". I can't say what the thickness is on other materials - I think it's important enough to ask him.
