What's the best gun locker for the trunk?

I live in Orange County and I wanted something that I can lock into my trunk that secures my 9mm nicely, is completely legal, and won't be stolen easily if someone broke into my car (trunk).

I plan on having my 9mm locked inside, with two loaded mags next to the gun. I commute quite far for work, so I figured it would be a good idea to have something inside my trunk in for SHTF scenarios.

Like I said, I'd prefer to go on the cheaper end of things, thoughts?

If it is attached to the car, it is considered part of the car and thus not a "seperate" locking container. Stupid, I know. Get one of those tethered safes to put under your seat. You can get them off Amazon for $25.

        Pretty good read there.
Well what would be a good case to have in the back of the car? How about not an everyday carry if you will.

How do most people deal with the trips to the Range.

Do you go straight to the range and then straight home?

Do you put some sort of vault in your car or cable lock through your cases?

I was just looking for something to secure down in the trunk. I'm usually very uneasy leaving my cannons in the car without them being buckled down to some extent. I never leave them over night either.

How is that any different if the safe is tethered to the car? It would still be "attached" to the car.

Well I just feel more safe from the cops if its teathered inside the trunk, makes sense?

By this do you mean you will have the gun and loaded mags locked in the same container?

                      I've read that's allowed.

                        For once SCE is correct.

We've agreed on something for once!!!! Yipee!!!

You would think otherwise, but from what I've gathered, it's fair game to carry your firearms and weapons like that. I've made posts on here before.

So your willing to pay extra for a one on one training course, but you want to go cheap on something to secure a gun in your car? That makes a whole bunch of sense right there. Why not spend the appropriate funds to keep it secure, after all that is the responsible thing to do.

No I'm saying I don't want to spend a few hundred on it... Something around $100 would be amazeballs.
