    Springfield Armory model number confusion...

I'm trying to confirm that a Springfield Armory Mil Spec is model number PB9108. The Springfield Armory website muddies the water by adding an L to the end of the model number. Our crazy California Roster of Approved Handguns shows model number PB9108 as being on the list of approved handguns. Can anybody help me sort this out? Thanks, Bob

The UPC code sticker on the box of my SA 1911a1 Mil-Spec is

    PW9108LP
    > .45 GI MILSPEC PARK <

It was a recent PPT purchase. I don't know if mine is "on roster".

The "PB" prefixed 9108 is on the list, both with and without the "L" suffix. Which designates an "integral lock"

Thanks very much. PB9108 is on the roster. I don't know what the letters at the end mean. An FFL once told me they indicated what was included, such as holster etc.

The p at the end of numbers means package, as in holster, etc.

          Both PB9108 & PB9108L are on roster.
Less likey to find the PB9108, since they are not made anymore without the lock.

PB9108LP (you may ignore the P).
L = ILS (lock in the MSH). It's replaceable, as needed or wanted.
P = Package (Holster, mag pouch - AKA free crap). It's okay, not that good.

Okay, on the lock. Some dealer will be okay with that as a lock. Some not, so the up-sell of a lock when you pick-up.

          Have fun!
