Just wanted to know if anybody has recommendations for a few good holsters for the Springfield XD. What does any one suggest for a IWB/ OWB rig in order to carry for concealed, or open carry while hunting or hiking. Thanks! P.S Pictures are always good so I can see how the gun sits in the holster

Springfield XD Holsters
Despite what your momma told you, Violence does solve problems-Chris KyleTags: None -
I am in the same situation. I have seen some good looking holsters from this company KT (http://www.kt-mech.com/). When I do buy one, I think it will be from these guys. I am looking for a good molle attaching holster w/ or w/o light.NRA Lifer

Crossbreed for IWB is my recommendation. I have one for my XD45C and supports it very well as well as extremely comfortable. Works for my XD40SC just as well even though their website states different holsters for the SC.
I also have AlienGear 2.0 but after finally breaking down and ordering the crossbreed, that is all I will now use.
I have no recommendations for OWB.Always Be Safe Out There!!!

Years ago when I shot IDPA, I used a G-CODE kydex holster for my 4" XD9.
Worked great and very comfortable.sigpic"Don't mistake my kindness for weakness. I am kind to everyone, but when someone is unkind to me, weak is not what you are going to remember about me."

I like my BladeTech owb rig. Very smooth draw, secure when holstered, with adjustable retention."Show me a hero and I'll write you a tragedy."

It would be helpful if you guys could post some of the types of shooting you do with holsters and how you carry. For instance I use the standard holster and run and gun with my rifle and battle belt. Has good retention and draw is secure. Mounting options suck but for free, it is what it is. I am looking for a holster for a battle belt.NRA Lifer

Raven Concealment Holster.. http://raven-concealment-systems1.my...ceted_search=0
You can have both IWB and OWB in one.Comment

I would also recommend Crossbreed for an IWB. The SuperTuck is big enough and supports the weight of an XD9 well and comfortably. Just be sure your belt is decent quality as well.He who keepeth his mouth, keepeth his life. But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction. Proverbs 13:3Comment

My go to for IWB is www.keyholeholsters.com
Their work is phenominal and turn around time is way faster than crossbreed.
I would suggest upgrading to the carbon print kydex, it's thicker and has better retention. And although it's not listed on the website ask about horsehide in lieu of cowhide, much better IMO. That's what I have from them.Comment

as a camping companion and for outdoor use in environments that can be extreme or wet, one of the Bianchi Universal Military Holsters may be a good option and one of the sizes offered should fit your XD. there are about a gazillion ways one of these holsters can be worn and add-ons are available as your needs might dictate. the holster includes a flap that can be worn or taken off, and an optional retention strap is available that can replace it. there is an array of items that are made to go with this system, including magazine carriers with flaps and snap assist closures. if you are restricted from normal hip carry due to backpack carry, an optional accessory for drop-leg use is also available. there are two separate shoulder carry add-ons that can be purchased and one of them being very flexible for positions of carry. btw, the holster is ambidextrous and can easily be converted from right to left hand carry and vice versa.
a bit of research on your part will assist in determining if you want to try out one of these holster systems. i also suggest you read reviews regarding the Bianchi system of carry; it may or may not be a holster system that you want to buy into. the online auction circuit is your best friend for this purchase; ebay has countless used and new examples of the Bianchi line that will cost you much less than buying new at retail price.Last edited by bsg; 06-02-2015, 8:39 AM.Comment

I've used the Fist #1 & 1A for years with a 45C & 40SC. They are great for CC. Mine are leather but they now have a kydex option too. The leather and clip have held up very well.Just wanted to know if anybody has recommendations for a few good holsters for the Springfield XD. I don't have a picture to post but look up Safariland STX paddle holster.
This is a good quality owb holster and reasonably priced. The paddle is large so it spreads the weight making it very comfortable. I have two of these holsters and I'll probably buy one for each of my carry guns.Comment
