9m.m. barrel

I have a Springfield 38.super and I would like to get a 9m.m. barrel looking for any recommendations.

You need to verify what ramp cut you have. Then you new to decide if you want a drop in or a hard fit. Then you'll need to decide what brand barrel to get. If you get a drop in you may still need to get a gunsmith to do minor fitting. Hard fit will definitely need a gunsmith that knows 1911 barrel fitting. With all that said, for what purpose is the 9mm barrel for? What is your accuracy expectation?

You may have to change the extractor, the rim diameter is different between the two.

I just put a 9 mm Barstow in a 38 super Kimber Pro Carry. It was the drop in or semi fit barrel. Took just a tad of fitting with a stone. Works great, didn't have to do anything with the extractor. It was a little longer than they advertised so I'll have to take off about .160".

That's a .38 super Mil-Spec? Sell it (easy sell I am guessing, because those are difficult to find) and get the 9mm Loaded.
Difference will be pretty much going to be the same money you are putting into the gun.

Back to the barrel conversion...I would go hard fit (why not upgrade), you save in ammo eventually.
+1, confirm your frame feed ramp.
Don't forget a link & link pin. Also a new barrel bushing.
Magazine -> go Tripp.
Should be the same recoil spring weight (14# I believe), but might as well get a spare as you shop.
Try the ejector last, might get away with the .38 super ejector.

Barrels: Bar-Sto, Kart, KKM, Wilson Combat, Nowlin, all quality (all the same, it's about the fitting) and will be $150+ just for the barrel. Fit it yourself or add more for a Smith.

Just to plink, I would trade up to a Loaded...but me - I like to upgrade . Adds up to convert it properly.

But I did popped a 9mm RIA barrel into my neighbors RIA .38 super (that is it) and it actually ran just fine through 50 rounds. Now that is a cheap conversion, haha.
