    Dingy sights.

I shoot an M&P long slide ported and the stock front sight keeps getting dingy from the port blast. Do you guys have suggestions of what works better than scrubbing it clean every 100 rounds. Should I paint them or use high viz sights or something. If you have experience , I appreciate the tip before changing them out and end up with the same prob. .

Burnt powder/soot will cover anything you put up there, does not matter.

Maybe a cleaner burning powder will minimize round time to get dirty.

I have FO (on my G23) and it takes about about 300+ rounds to notice the FO needs a wipe. Just a micro fiber cloth, less than 5 seconds, bright as round 1.

Never mind on the hiviz. I found an old post saying the fiber eventually melted with the port blast. I'll stick to wiping it.

It is easy to replace the fiberoptic rods in front sights yourself. So what if they eventually melt.

Keep a soft and dry toothbrush handy or maybe moist with mild CLP if dry isn't working. Gonna happen with ported pistols. If you go plastic, they definitely can melt.
