    Replacement sights for Buck Mark

I am just about to start the purchase process of a Buck Mark.

At the range yesterday, my wife and I shot one to try it out, but in the relatively low indoor light, my wife was having difficulty getting a good sight picture with the standard iron sights, and it wasn't that easy for me either.

I have a Kimber TLE .45 with tritium night sights, and I find those very easy to see in any kind of light.

Have any of you upgraded a Buck Mark with fiber optic or other sights that glow? I know that I can buy one of several Buck Mark models that come with a fiber optic front sight. I'm trying to decide whether to buy a model that comes with a fiber optic front sight and upgrade the rear sight, or just to pay less for a model with standard sites and install a matching front and rear.

Any experience or recommendations you may have are welcome.

    Look no further...

I put these on my Ruger MK3. Absolutely outstanding.

I've also got a Kimber TLE/RL and there is no comparison in the daylight; the Williams win hands down.

Like most things the answer depends upon your intended use for the handgun. Mine came with the green fiber in front and all black rear. It is fine and I do not feel a need to upgrade.

But, as another option, you can get a picatinney rail and mount a red dot or other optic.

A fiber optic requires light so if the indoor light is poor you'll just get a dim FO tip. You'll need a tritium/FO or make it easier just mount one of those compact lightweight red dot sight.

Yup. You'll need to be in direct sunlight to get the FO sight to really glow. Indoor ranges and even outdoor ranges with covered shooting lanes will make the FO sight dim. Granted, a dim FO sight will probably be easier to shoot compared to black on black sights.

+1 on Williams FO. I have a set installed and glows when outdoor even over shade. depends on time of day and which way sun if reflecting.

indoor it glowed as well, again depends on lighting and if your indoor has its own light in the shooting stall.

But a dim FO is better than all black front/rear sight against an all black target.

I have used the Williams fiber front sight and the one from Dawson Precision. I personally like the sight picture better with the dawson. The blade seems more precise. Here's the dawson.
