xd40 sub compact

I just started my 10 day on a 3" xd40 sub compact. My neighbor has one and really likes it. I watched some videos and researched online. I'd like to get some feedback. This is my first sub compact pistol and if I ever get my ccw permit (I doubt they will ever contact me for my interview) this could possibly my edc. People have said finding a holster for it could be problematic, if so it still seems to be a solid pistol and a great addition to the collection. Any info would be appreciated. I also put a lever action 30/30 on the same dros, can't wait to rip it up cowboy style.

XD, decent gun like glock.. some people like it and some don't. It will serve you fine, just keep it stock and simple.

There are many holster options for XD's, they're great guns.

Great gun. Never a problem, and trusted as my EDC.
Holsters won't be a problem. I have at least five in my collection. Settled on a leather IWB from The Holster Store

OP: Most XD packages should have a Springfield provided "holster," but they aren't impossible to find. AFAIK, the XD(M) holsters are not compatible with the XD (or was it the other way around?).

I love my Xd 40 sub. The holster that comes with it is crap IMO. I carry IWB with an AceCase holster or a Kholster. Lots of other holster options available too. Out of all my guns I shoot my Xd the best.

I had an XD sub-compact 9mm along with a XDm .40 a while back. It's a good solid gun, I sold mine after putting 2000 rounds though the XDm and 1000 though the XD sub. Although it was not the right choose for me, it was still a very good reliable gun.
There are many options for holsters and other acc. for the XD line.

I have a 9mm and a 40. I love the XD line. I have the 40 on my permit but its kinds [ample] to carry for everyday carry where I live . I carry a S@W 442 and a speed strip. The 40 is in case of just in case

I'm excited to shoot it. I didn't realize it was made in Croatia until this afternoon. Not that big of a deal, but I assumed it was made in the USA considering the brand name...disappointed. Thanks for the info.

I'm sure I'll like the pistol. I've shot my Brothers full size .40 and .45. I thought I was buying an American product. I've already come to terms with it. Only 9 days left! Looks like I'll have to buy a glock if I want something made in America 😊. I like the Glock 19 FDE.

Hate to burst the bubble again. Although there is indeed USA Glock's, the roster only allows made in Austria (unless you are roster exempt, or like to pay more in the used market).

USA that is plastic/polymer look at S&W Shield.
