    multiple handgun sale opinions

Looking for opinions on selling several handguns in a single "lot". Nothing too special really, but there are a few off roster items. I was thinking I would include all associated accessories just to make things easier as I don't want to deal with several transactions. In total it would be about $5K. I might consider doing two separate deals for about 50/50. Do you think it would make sense to pursue this or am I barking up the wrong tree? If feedback is encouraging, I will eventually list in the marketplace. Thanks

PLEASE DO NOT PM ASKING WHAT I HAVE. IF I DECIDE TO GO THIS ROUTE, WE CAN DISCUSS IN THE MARKETPLACE. Thank you

We can start off with a quick list of what you want to sell. Selling them as a lot takes a while though, it would be quicker to part them out.

      Not quicker overall though.

Post it up in the right place and see what people say. No risk to you if no one wants to do it.

I am sure I could piecemeal everything, just don't want to. I am in no hurry so not worried about it taking a while. I am thinking of going with a single platform and this stuff does not qualify

It is not easy finding a buyer who will buy multiple guns at once without a substantial discount. I tried to sell two 9mm Glock at once and because the discount is not deep, one of them is a Gen 4, I can't find a buyer who will take both. I end up selling to 2 buyers but I am able to schedule the transaction at the same FFL at the same time.

Of course unless you found the right buyer who is looking for exactly most of the guns that you are selling so you can sell as a lot.

I'd agree that it would be hard to sell two mixed bags of guns for $2500 each. But hey you might have something popular like a hand full of accu shadows or something along those lines. Good luck and you do get 5ppt a year.

Make a deal with an FFL to consign them or sell the separately. Or sell 5 yourself and consign the rest.

Yes.....Depending on what guns you're talking about, there are a few. select buyers out there, that could purchase the guns in a single "lot".

"I barking up the wrong tree?"

The buyers you're targeting are all business & will want you to provide complete details about each gun, etc.

Details like age, history, number of rounds downrange, detailed description of condition, etc. Are the original boxes, papers, tools, hang-tags, etc. available with each gun ?

Complete a detailed photo documentation of each gun and items that go with each gun. Have this documentation available upon request from buyers.

Without the above...yes.....you're barking up the wrong tree.

                Good Luck.

Unless there is some specific reason to keep them together (consecutive S/Ns for example) then I would just sell them all separately. They'll sell quicker and you'll probably make more money on them. If I go into a sale seeing 5 handguns for 5k I'll probably offer 4k since I'm buying all of them at once. If you don't take it I'll move on without my feelings being hurt but you will still be sitting on it. There is obviously a lot more that goes into an offer but that gives you an idea of how I would approach the negotiating table and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I don't normally buy used guns, but if the price was right for a bunch of them I might do it. But it would have to be an attractive price for the items offered. If you want top dollar you'd be better off selling them individually. IMO.

Look how people have conducted lot sales of common guns in the past on gunbroker. This will give you an idea how it works in the rest of the country, things here might proceed slightly different but still a good market gauge.
