    featureless ar pistols

    anybody doing them?
I have some old high capacity uzi mags I've had forever, just wondered if you could do 9mm featureless build with them

Can't make a "featureless" AR pistol as one of the listed evil features is that the magazine is not within the pistol grip.

I strongly suggest reading and understanding CA's AW laws prior to suggesting such a stupid idea.

What if you removed the pistol grip and used one of the ugly mako magwell grips?

Edit: I know the trigger would still be in the wrong spot, but would that make it technically legal?

It will be fun to see how you pull trigger.

Playing with the one sitting next to me, I can't figure out how it could be fired with one hand. Part of a handgun's definition is that it is designed to be fired from one hand. That's why putting a second grip on a handgun turns it into a NFA AOW.

Read the CA handgun ban ID flowchart. I'll even link it for you.

The capacity to accept a detachable magazine at some location
                    outside of the pistol grip.
Removing the pistol grip does not change the fact that the magazine is outside of the pistol grip. The ONLY way to get around it would be a bullpup conversion built around the mag well like bohoki's concept image shows.

He is trying to use the magwell as a pistol grip.

That's what I was getting at.

but would you need to build it off of an entirely different lower or can you (in theory) jury rig something to the lower. my question is, if you remove the pistol grip, add the mako grip, can the magwell then be classified as the pistol grip with the magazine inside.

                          ...

And how do you plan on actually shooting that?

Now that I'm on my laptop, I can see bohoki's photo, which is exactly what I was describing. using the magwell as the pistol grip, and jury rigging some bolt on trigger to pull the actual trigger. It's not a question of how practical this is, it's if it is technically legal.
