    Which has better bluing?

I know the 686/586 vs GP100 has been beaten to death, but my question is about the bluing.
Which one in ur oppinion has the darker deeper bluing? Which has the better polish?
Im looking to get a 4" 357 mag in the near future and I have narrowed it down to these two. Short of finding an old smith on the sale forums, they will most likely be new. So yes the smith will have the Hillary hole and transfer bar and such. I've come to terms with that.

I just like the look of a really dark bluing and hardwood grips, so that's kinda what im looking for.

    Thx for the help guys.

We have 586 and 686 4" in stock, I can take pictures for you if you would like. I believe I personally own a blued Ruger I can compare them to.

For what it's worth, I just did a PPT with a dude yesterday who was telling me about how beautiful the bluing on his 586 is.

What if the one that doesn't look as blue as you'd like actually fits your hand better, will you pass on it?

The 586 is blued with some polish on it. The GP100 looks more blackened.
The 586 is a little reflective the Ruger is not. My answer is 586. And yes,
          I own both.

I do not think the 586 Plus is a current model.

The Smith is a deeper richer blue, the GP100 is more of a satin look IMO.

reconsider a 586 pre-lock. regardless of what you get, congrats in advance.

Pretty sure the bluing is darker on the ruger, but IMO the 586 (I have a newer 586-8) looks way nicer both in finish and grip. The machining is nicer and the bluing is a better look at angles and under light.
