    Info on this Colt 1911

I have the opportunity to buy this Colt. I cannot find any info on this pistol, other than it was made in 1995.

I've never seen a Colt 1911 with roll marks this plain on the slide. It's parkerized and comes with one mag. What's estimated value in California? Seller is asking $750 with scratches included

If its one thing I learned in the CG Marketplace is that 38 Super Colt 1911 usually fetch over 1k. Im not too sure about which model it is but from what I have seen $750 is a pretty good price
    WTB:
    1)AR15 Aero Precision Skeletonized Lower
    2)S&W 686 6in barrel ...686 No dash through 686-4
    3) Saltworks M5 upper/lower set

      The seller

Did the seller not have the back ground info on this pistol? Or was he/she not the original owner?

They were made for a few years, Colt produced a "economy" pistol model because a few of the other 1911 manufacturer's were taking some sales away because of the price of the Colts back then. That pistol is known as the "ORM" (old roll mark) it came parkerized, blacked out sights, rubber stocks, and a plastic trigger pad and a special serial number. They are fine shooter's not really "collectable" yet but your's in 38 super would fetch that price probably more . I had a commander in that model that was a tack driver and it never malfunction on me I traded it here last year and I'm sure still puttinga smile on his face. Google Colt ORM and you will find all you want to know about Colt ORM. I would buy it just cuz it's 38 super nice find.

Looks like a shooter! I like the look of the ORM, wonder what the original price was for this 'economy' pistol back then (year of manufacture?)?

              Thanks for the information peeps!

The Seller is the original owner, but he purchased it when he was young and he's still not really an enthusiast to go on gun forums. None of his guns have the original boxes or manuals/paper work.

The Colt website told me it's made in 1995 by the serial number.

It's the roll marks that are really throwing me off this pistol, I cannot find another one like it any where on the web and my Google Fu is pretty high

i remember seeing these back in the mid 90's
                triggers my memory
except all the ones i was looking at were .45acp's

i was looking for a nice colt 1911 with gloss finish but these were too "rough" finished for me.

and i kept wondering why they didn't put series 80 on the slide
