    Ruger MKI

    Hey-
Found a mid 70's Ruger MK1 that is blued, standard 4 3/4" barrel. How accurate are these? Priced at 200 bucks, great shape with a soft and hard case.

I'd like to get a .22 pistol like this and refuse to get a MKIII with the new loaded chamber indicator. The MK1 seems to be simple...

does the newer mk2 10rd mags fit the earlier mk1 with the 9rd mag?

If I remember correctly the MKI mag has the mag spring compressing button on the opposite side from the MKII. Other than that they are the same, fantastic accuracy, feeds anything, they are the reason the Colt Woodsman and the High Standard pistol are gone. You shouldn't have any trouble finding mags.

Why do you not like the loaded chamber indicator?

I just picked up an MKIII Hunter at Turners and got the Volquartsen accurizing kit... I don't know if I like the trigger though, hope it works better than it looks.

I sold my MKII and then realized how much I missed it.
