Romanian Tokarev TTC - Problems

Has anyone here seen problems with Toks completely locking up with an unloaded mag inside? I was having some mag release issues so I replaced the mag catch assembly. Tried a few different mags to test function and one of them is stuck - wont come out at all. The mag release presses in but the mag is stuck tight. The slide will cycle but wont lock back (even though there is an empty mag in the mag well).
Any suggestions before I throw it into the bay...?

have you tried a complete disassemble or uninstalling the new mag catch you installed

if that's possible I would try those first.

of course always make sure the gun is completely empty both magazines and chamber/barrel. I know you know that already I just always feel obligated to say that.

I am not sure I can disassemble with the mag in there but I could try. And a mag got stuck in the gun before I swapped out the mag catch- that is partly why I replaced it.

Have you tried it without the grips installed? It may be binding up on the metal retaining plate on the back of the grip panels. Especially that rivet head in the center.

That is good to know. I finally field stripped it and with the slide off I could get the mag out. Still don't know why it got so locked up but I tried a different mag and it worked fine.
