    Do I have this right?

I haven't sold a handgun to an out-of-state buyer for several years, so I need to know if I've got this right:

Is it now true that you MUST ship a handgun to an out of state FFL through a California FFL?

Is this also true of handguns being transferred to an out of state member of the family?

    Q. Is it now true that you MUST ship a handgun to an out of state FFL through a California FFL?
    A. No, but the FFL on the other end may ask that to occur due to their own store policies. It takes effort to find FFLs that will accept shipment from private parties. Note: it's usually cheaper for you to ship through an FFL if you can find one in your area. Not sure of your location.

    Q. Is this also true of handguns being transferred to an out of state member of the family?
    A. Irrelevant who is receiving the gun. Same answer as above.

UG is correct. You can ship it directly from your house, but the delivery location must be an FFL. Intrafamilial across state lines included.

must = 'required by law', so, as already noted, 'no' to 'use an FFL to ship.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
