Help with 1911 grip screw bushing

Any suggestions on how to get the grip screw bushing apart from the grip and screw? Last night attempting to change grips, and the bushing came out of the frame along with the grip. Now locked together! Lucky I had a spare bushing and screw so I could still make the change, but would still like to get original parts back into frame (looks a little tacky, original parts were hard chromed, replacement is blue).

Vise grips. Make sure to grab the non-threaded portion of the bushing. You shouldn't have to hold the bushing too tightly to get it seperated from the screw and grip.

When reinstalling it, use some red loctite to ensure it staying in the frame.

Simple and not uncommon if you haven't ruined the bushing yet. . Put some blue loctite on the bushing threads and screw it back into the gun. Let it sit overnight and then take out the grip screw.

I didnt want to screw mine up with visegrips, so I took it to a gunsmith (Bain and Davis in San Gabriel) who luckily had a special tool that grips the bushing. I guess its pretty common if they make a specialized tool just for the bushings. After, he peened all the bushings to the frame. Nice guys, and they didnt charge me either.
