Ruger Mark III or Buckmark Camper

Asking for a bit of advise between the two. (in .22lr)

Would love to own either one, but obviously, only one is now CA approved. My question is, should I buy the Camper or any other Buckmark in .22 or sit and wait to see if a Mark III comes up for sale at a reasonable price in my area of CA? Or are the pros of the Mark III negligible enough to ignore and just go ahead and buy the Camper (or other Buckmark)

No rush... just the rush to have it and fire it once i get it...

No one bought the buck mark until there wasn't a choice.

Tell me about it.... if money was no object... i would. Looking into getting a Tikka in .223 so it might look as if the Mark III (if one ever comes becomes available ) will be the last to the collection.

Wow, then Browning must have been losing a lot of money, making many different models of them since 1985.

I'm pretty sure lots of people bought lots of Buck Marks while they could still get the Rugers.

I can't speak for the MkIII, but I've had a 22/45 for 15+ years and it's a great little gun, but I like my Buck Mark better.

              +1 exactly this.

As much a 22/45 fan I was, I feel the campers have taken over the game and are the new better value. MK III especially leave a lot to be desired unless you get the high dollar high end option.

Not so. The Brownings have had their fans for a long time. They ARE a bit more popular now though.

I happen to like the Rugers so bought a few while I could. They still show themselves on the used market.

Ruger is built like a tank. You can use it as a hammer if need be.

I think the MK II will have more aftermarket support.

used mark II/III or new Buckmark?

I guess that depends on condition and price!

but similar price range and condition i'd go with the Ruger just because its now off roster

I have two daughters, one has a Mark ll, the other a Buckmark. Both have a blast and swap guns all the time.
