Any range friendly Calgunners in San Diego with a VP9?

Thanks for the offer krisjon, it was very appreciated.

I bought a VP9 and love it. All hype aside, it shoots great and I enjoy shooting it. It doesn't replace another handgun but is a great addition to the collection.

    Thanks

    Hello

I am interested in a VP9 but would like to shoot one before dropping a grand just to find out it's not for me. Is there anyone in San Diego that would be willing to meet at a range and let me try their pistol? (or know of a range that rents them?)

I would be willing to pay for the lane, bring ammo and also bring some off roster pistols for you to try. I could bring:

    S&W 500 Mag
    TRP Operator
    Comp/Target MKIII
    Gov/Comp MKII 22/45
    Gen 4 19, 23 or 30

Thank you, any help is appreciated

    Max
I'll save you the trouble, it's a fine firearm but it's not worth anywhere near $1000.

^ Pretty much the above. You can also save the time and just buy a PPQ...similar in function but a MUCH nicer trigger.

          Agreed.

          It's not worth a grand.

I was quoting what they are going for new in the sales forum.

If I happened to shoot it twice as good (half size group) as my Glock, would it be worth paying twice the cost then? I don't know, that's why I want to shoot one to see for myself.

            Thanks for the replies

              What interests you about it?

IMO, they are over hyped and over priced. Yes, I do own one.

Just about everything will shoot a group half the size of a Glock. A USP compact .40 will shoot circles around a Glock 34, I have done it. I've got a VP 9, and I got it before 01-01-2015, and I paid a little more than I would have for a Glock. It shoots great, but no better than my other HKs, or my SIGs, if that tells you anything. For the same money, you can get a P226 or a USP 9. Quite frankly even the "I've got a VP9" coolness is mostly passed now that the Glock 43 is the hot gun.
It is no measure of health to be well adjusted in a profoundly sick society.

The grip, I shoot better with what's comfortable than something I have to hold on to. It's a preference, I like the grip options of the pistol.

If you come up north to Temecula I can let you shoot mine. You can also compare it to PPQ M1. Hopefully you find someone closer.

If nothing else pans out and I just have to try one I may get in contact with you.

                      Have a great day

I owned both vp9 and ppq m1...the vp9 was worth the $599 that I paid for it but I wouldnt pay more. It was also giving me the trigger bite so I sold it and got a CZ Sp01...best thing I ever did.

How are people selling this stuff for a grand? I've had mine listed forever at 900(eventually went down to 830) because I wanted to fund a Dan Wesson. This is for an LE with 5 extra mags making it 8 mags total when mags were 70 to 100 each. Had a bunch of tire kickers and flakes, to the point that I just decided to keep. But yea, how the heck are these going for a grand?
