Next gun purchase: Sig Sauer? Dunno!

I was thinking of purchasing another Sig Sauer until I read about Germany's ban on Sig Sour exports. How will that effect availability of the P220 and its parts here in the U.S.? What parts of the P220 is made in Germany? Anyone with crystal balls?

no affect. the classic P series are now made here in the US. No German parts in the new ones at all.
WTB: Sig P245 or P220 Compact

You will be happy with a p220 US made. Just remember to get it with siglites and an SRT trigger, if you dont topgunsupply sells the srt kit for $50 . the SRT makes a huge difference.

Oh yes I do have an SP2022 in 40sw its a great gun. Its no P series though.

You can also have Sig install just the SRT for $99, or have them include it in their action tune up for $250 total which include shipping. This pretty much makes the trigger smoother than it was before and gives it a glass(ier) like break. Prices that SIG charges for action tune up is cheaper than Grayguns, and it keep the gun under warranty.

True about sig being cheaper, but Grayguns do a SUPERB job. Also Bruce is a cool guy. I kinda trust him more then SIG themselves.

The SRT trigger is quite easy to install, just watch the youtube video or pay a sig armorer a min shop charge if you arent comfortable.

That being said I have a p220 getting a sig service package and an srt package. Sig will discount services if you order a few things. I got charged $50 for the srt trigger, and install from sig when doing the $144 package on top.

It's voids the warranty which sucks unlike HK, Sig takes pleasure in voiding your warranty. That being said from the SigForums, the Leverage package from what people are talking about which is a reduce overtravel, reduce pretravel, short reset and smoothing NP3 of components is "orgasmic." It's $450 and I really wanted to do this but I think I will put another 1k rounds into my Mk25 before I send it in just to make sure if I will need Sig's warranty service *knock on wood.

Funny, my 5+ year old german stamped mosquito is on its way back from sig. It is also off warranty. Has been for a long time. They just put on a new slide stop lever, full cleaning, ream the barrel and fire 40 test shots. Just paid the $55 shipping. I am also on the sig forums.

That being said I sure do love my HK USP40 with match trigger.

The HK's are the only firearms I consider on par with my W German sigs.

I had sig do the AEP and sig service package on my 1991 w german 226 along with srt trigger. Sig service package on my w german p220 w/srt and p6 with sig service package and srt. On my MK25 w/ chrome barrel they did the srt upgrade.

Sig gave me a HUGE discount on those services. I asked them to cut me a deal. I would have done it myself otherwise

I dont know if sig made an exception for me due to me being a sig fanatic and loyal customer as far as the mosquito repair.

Bruce Gray did the work, leverage pkg $450 on my 226 dark elite. All I can say is WOW

Installing an SRT is easy. There are several good YouTube clips that will show you exactly what to do. I put one in on a P226 last weekend. After watching a YouTube clip it took about 10 minutes. Apparently, it does void the warranty if you do it yourself, but if you ever need to send your gun in for warranty work, reinstalling the original parts would be easy.
