Will do, I just finished knocking my sights out.

I used my wood work bench, drilled a hole through the leather and table, layed the slide over with the sights over the hole, removing right to left, layed leather ontop then a piece of wood, then a C clamp, a few hits with my steel punch and hammer and they popped down into the hole.

Monday I'll call the place down the street to see if they have a gunsmith who works with XDs or can install my Meps for me

Will let you know what they say.

Got my Utah CCW, Thanks JimAmentler!

I have the meprolights on my glock 30 and my sig 220R, and a 15yr old set of trijicons on my sig 226. The trijicons are pretty dim now but still light up. They have the silver outlines. I really prefer the mepro's to the trijicons. You can clearly see the thicker white outlines around the meps, and the actual tritium dot is way bigger and brighter. When the trijicons finally bite the dust, Im going to replace them with meprolights. I run the green/green combo.

For me, its all about how I pick the sights up when shooting. When I shopped around, the meps were hands down the choice. Side by side with the other brands, they were the clearest and cleanest sight picture.

          why night sights?
All they are is a PIA. I blacked all mine out.
Most of them are too bright and shines back in your eyes.

Well no luck at the place down the street, They recommended Badger John's off Madison. I went there and they want $50, I asked about bringing my own sights and my old ones already removed... $50, and also told me I probably damaged my slide removing the stock sights on my own.

BS, I'll just wait for my sights to arrive and use my vice with C clamps and wedges to press in my sights on my own. Save that $50 for trigger work.

I also prefer Heinie's straight 8s. Not only are the dot over dots faster to pick up, the sights also provide a crisper sight picture for daylight shooting. However, I don't feel the vials are large enough, and don't work as well as my meps or trijicons in low light. They work great in absolute darkness... but both my Meps and Trijicons are brighter overall due to larger vials.
