Although there are so many different front sight dovetail cut size out there you will have to measure your cut then find one that will fit or make it fit. Just mill your own front sight. You can get fiber optic in many different colors and sizes to your liking.

You can stuff extra mags in your back pocket too, so if your belt runs out, you can grab some out of your pants.

Also, I highly suggest you walk your first match and focus on safety rules and shooting to get all "A" hits. Forget speed, just shoot for fun and to get used to it.

Remember not to touch your gun before the "make ready" command!

Remember to dial 1 before 911.

Forget about stopping power. If you can't hit it, you can't stop it.

Jtrocks, the local club here does Tuesday evening steel shoots, plan to do at least one of those to get familiar with the competitive atmosphere. I had already thought of getting all 'A's, I figure if that's my goal it will force me to slow down so I don't miss.'
The dovetail shouldn't be a big deal once I get it out in the shop and take a look at it

I recommend you get a cr speed belt, regardless of which holster and pouches you choose. They aren't that expensive. Have fun, USPSA is a blast.

I use a MidwayUSA belt and a Blade Tech DOH holster and Blade Tech mag pouches for my M&P.

Just read through the responses and see you're going single stack with a 1911. I've got a Blade Tech holster for a 1911. If you're interested, shoot me a pm and we can work something out.

            Here's info on the belt.

Bladetech's are nice, but I like comp tacs better. They have a deeper more pronounced sight channel that more readily accommodates aftermarket competition fiber optic front sights. My Dawson dragged on my bladetech and I had to file out the inside. My comptac fits with room to spare.
