    Solder tip

I'm about to butcher my G17. Can anyone tell me what solder tip makes this pattern?

What heat temperature are you going to set it at? If you have not practiced first I recommend trying it with an A2 grip first. A good stipple job is about amount of pressure applied, heat, tip and taking your time. Have fun

I have some old poly ak furniture I was going to test on. I still have to sand and prep first. Thanks for the tip!

Did you mean tinning the tip? I thought that is done with new soldering tips. Can you elaborate?

Also I recommend having a fan by to blow the fumes away as well as a n95 mask. To what degrees does your unit go up to? Is it adjustable?

Yes, I do have an adjustable iron. It's 20+ years old. I think I've used it maybe once, twice at most.

How about some before and after pics? I'd also be curious to know how much labor this sort of mod takes. Thanks in advance.

What's the degree range on your iron?

You can just try grip, talon something like that Before doing any permanent makeover on the grip.
