    Stumped about a smaller piece

Ok I have a Beretta 92 FS 9 mm and love it.

    It's time to get a smaller piece. I want a 9 mm.

I held a Sig p2022 and loved the feel. The slide rack was smooth and easy for me. But I hated the polymer grips.

I love the look of the p239 and it feels good too, but the slide rack is a bit stiff, and it's slightly larger than I'd hoped.

H&K and Kahr, same thing, slide rack is just too hard for me to be comfortable with.

I have this thing in my head about polymer! I think I need/want a steel frame to absorb some of the kick and get me back to target.

I really like the look of the mini Cougar, but they are hard to find and no longer produced. I held the Nano today and found it a bit stiff and chunky. But both are Beretta, and I'm comfortable with Beretta.

I haven't held the PX4 but it looks a little chunky.

Finally because of the slim feel, I think I'd like a single stack mag.

I want something with a bit of character and class...

Am I just wayyyyyy too picky??? Please help with your ideas and insights. I'm fairly new to firearms and I tend to read a lot. And I don't want a Glock.

Go at it, what do you suggest I should try?

SIg P229 might work for you and if the grips are too fat for your taste, you can replace them with aluminum grips, E2 and others to make it fit your hand better. As always, preference and just buy whatever feels comfortable and what you like.

How about the m9a1 compact? Similar size to the m&p fullsize.

If this is solely because "you want it" and will serve no specific purpose. get what suits your fancy. If you are wanting to shoot it well, get what fits you the best.

                  P938 Nightmare

If you can find one post SSE, the Sig P938 seems to fit most of your criteria. VERY easy slide to rack.

I love mine. Slim, Single Stack, Classy, Easy To Rack and a Metal Frame.

I couldn't bring myself to use the term "piece" in referring to a gun.

You know, some guns deserve the detail a larger picture affords.
