I have a dilemma that I need your help with

I have sitting in front of me at my LGS two 9mm 1911s. Springfield 5" in stainless with target sights and a Kimber stainless target 2 in 5". I can only afford one... Which one should I get?

I already have a Springer Loaded in .45 that I absolutely love. But I like variety in my gun safe.

Springers CS is pretty darn good, Kimber from what I heard is hit or miss, but better in recent years.

Price is 1k on the springer and add $100 for the Kimber.

Both feel great in my hands and triggers feel nice in both.

    What say you?

Man lots of these Kimber vs. SA 9mm threads today... I wonder if y'all are looking at the same couple guns.

      Get the Springfield

Even though I'm a Kimber fan and don't like the billboard engraving of the S/A line up, I'd say get the Springer.

Better C/S and also the lineage of have both 9mm and 45 Loaded's.

        Cheaper too.

          Springfield.

I've never warmed up to the Kimbers.

          Springfield CS is top notch.

Anyone ever send a Kimber back for some feed back?

No worries, I'm always more than happy to spread the good word of Springfield Armory (I just picked up my Professional today so I'm feeling particularly loyal)

I vote Springfield---seems there are less issues with SA...

Ok I popped over on the other thread. I'm gonna bite and get the SA! I already made up my mind, but I needed a small push from my CG brethren [emoji38]

                        Thanks everyone!

Springfield. From the info you've given ... $100 cheaper and better warranty (lifetime versus ... 2 years?)

Yes, I sent my Kimber CDP back for finish issues. The crappy KimPro finish was flaking off around the tangs for the grip safety prior to having it a year.

They claimed finishes are not warrantied.

I didn't give up and after back and forth emails and a few calls, they FINALLY agreed to refinish the frame. Now it took some patience and effort on my part, shouldn't have had to, but they finally relented and did the work.

Would I buy another Kimber, yes...have always longed for a SS Raptor. But I'd buy a a full rail TRP or a Pro first.
