    AR pistol question

Can someone point me in the direction of a faq on building a new at pistol? Is it as simple as milling an 80% lower And slapping a pistol upper on it? Tks in advance

Exactly what you just said. I suggest you use the search function before you get ripped a new one.

There is some debate still, but I think many will agree that you must mill you 80%, assemble into a bolt action (or break top) single shot configuration, with bullet button, <10 rd mags.

After that some think it's OK to convert to semi-auto, others disagree. Do a lot of research and decide what you're comfortable with.

Needs to be made to comply with CA unsafe handgun laws, CA dangerous weapons laws, and CA zip gun laws.

Unless you will be making it into a semi-auto pistol with a chamber load indicator (CLI), magazine disconnect mechanism (MDM), microstamping array, and submitting it to CA DOJ to be tested, it will need to be made as a dimensionally compliant single-shot break-top or bolt-action pistol.

Therefore, when completed your "80% receiver" will need to have:
              1. a minimum 6" barrel length
              2. a minimum 10.5" overall length
              3. a break-top action or a bolt-action
              4. a maglock + 0 round magazines/sled
