New Glock 30sf

Yesterday I took out my 2nd Glock purchased, first was a Gen3 19 last year. It is a Gen 3 30sf. I sold off an EAA Witness .45 that was sitting unused and decided to get the 30sf after much research. I enjoy and trust the 19 so I figured I would get another Glock. I guess after many years of silly resistance, I'm now a full-fledged Scientologist....I mean Glockophil.

It was already lubed from the factory so I only pulled a boresnake down the barrel to remove any oil and ran it as is. 150 rounds with no issues. Accuracy was great when I did my part. I was concerned with pinky bite (guess I read too much on the internets), but had none. Oh and no brass to face.

It handled HSTs, several brands of FMJ and even my lower-powered handloads without blinking. Recoil was very similar to my full-size M&P 45, thus very manageable.

Below are pics of the post-outing pimping I did. Only a 25 cent trigger job, TruGlo fiber optic sights and a little geek factor backplate. Just thought I would share my experience with the 30sf so far.

You made a good choice I believe. I love my 30SF. It is one of my CCW's. Very accurate and 10+1 is not too shabby for a 45 subcompact.

I highly recommend the flush 9rd magazines for carry.

I do prefer the stock sights on mine. Tried Trijicon nights sights for a while and switched back to stock.

I prefer either the Warren Tactical or Trijicon HD.

Is getting the 9th round in the flush mag as much of a PITA as getting the 10th round in the standard 10 round mag for the 30sf?

Getting that 10th round in the 10 round mag on my G26 is easy, getting the 10th round in on my 30sf, not so much, lol...

The springs are extremely stiff when new. I will usually load 8rds and chamber one. Then pop the mag out and add another round. It will get easier to get all 9 in once the mags are broken in.

My 30SF doesnt like having the 9+1 with the flush mags so I've stuck with 8+1 when I carry plus a spare 10rd mag.

No difference for the 9 round magazine, I suggest downgrading by 1 round and swapping magazines regularly.

I had no issues loading 10 rounds in all three mags I had, using a Lula loader. Luv that gizmo.

Thanks for the comments. As for the sights, I will mainly be running this 30sf in pistol classes and decided to try out fiber optics to make the front sight 'pop' out. I run a front orange Ameriglo night-sight on my M&P45 which stands out well in day and night. Just thought I would give the fiber optics a go.

I plan on running the 30sf next Saturday in a Stoic Ventures pistol class in San Jose. I'm sure it'll run as well as my M&P I used last time.

Congrats on your 30sf, I just scored a 30S myself. They are great for carry, I haven't found a smaller or better 10+1 45.
