I dig the paint work that I have seen but I dont know if it makes a CZ worth 2kWTB:
1)AR15 Aero Precision Skeletonized Lower
2)S&W 686 6in barrel ...686 No dash through 686-4
3) Saltworks M5 upper/lower set

Pro-package makes a big difference compared to stock. I like the stance, "do it right, or don't do it at all."EddieComment

I believe it improves the weapons performance, the value would be to each individual. I think some people would pay more and others would not for upgrades. CGW has produced some great products, and his customer service is well above average. I performed all my own work but have used different variations of his parts, depending what my need was for that particular pistol. To me the value is great. As we all know we can upgrade any weapon, but you will have to find someone who is willing to pay the value that the gun is worth to you.Comment

I know they are so busy they are refusing new work, this from the website:
Not Currently Accepting New Work
Due to our work load, and the time it takes CGW to hand polish, tune, and ensure proper timing in the CZ design, we will not be able take in any additional work in April 2015.
We will begin accepting new work starting May 1, 2015. Our goal is quality, not quantity.Comment

Let's say a CZ with pro package is about $1,000 new the most I would pay for a used CZ with pro package is $750. Used guns should be discounted despite what the fools in the market place think.Comment

I agree with Jack. Like adding any aftermarket item, the resale value is probably not 100%.Anyone press will hear the fat lady sing.

Imo it is well worth the money and I have had at one point around 13 czs tuned by them (mostly p01, a 97b, and a tac sport that is still there)
My first edition sse p01 copperheads, a copperhead 97b sa) and the tuned tac sport are the only pistols except my glock 19 I will never sell.
My tac sport and sa 97b makes my accushadows eventually expendableComment

I don't care about resale value, I've never sold one of my guns. I sent my CZ75b to CGW for a basic trigger job, new FOS and a barrel bushing. They did a very good job and I like the gun even more now, it is ten years old. I wanted a more responsive trigger, something closer to my 1911's.Comment

For those that have the opinion of "it does not add value", I have a question for you.... If you're in the market for a CZ and you find 2 for sale, one with CGW upgrades slightly used and one brand new stock for relatively the same price, which one would you purchase?
I'm going to guess there are 2 types of buyers when it comes to CZs, one that doesn't know anything about them and will be happy with stock as is, and the other buyer that know's a CGW upgraded pistol is more "enjoyable". If you're aware of the increased enjoyment in using an upgraded pistol, wouldn't' you pay more for one on sale? You know very well that if you buy stock, you will eventually spend the additional funds upgrading it anyway, so why not pay upfront instead of convincing yourself that it has no value.sigpicComment

Agree with you on that point, however if I see an SP01 for $750 OTD brand new at 2AZone and I see a CGW customized SP01 for $1100 with 500 rounds through it me personally I would go with the $750 brand new. You're right though if both are $750 OTD I'd go with the CGW one.For those that have the opinion of "it does not add value", I have a question for you.... IMHO-Seems to me it would depend on the buyer. I personally would be happy to pay a bit more for a gun that had customizations THAT I WANT. I guess the trouble arises in that you're thinning your potential buyers by an awful lot if you do customizations that not everyone would be interested in (which inherently will be the case). I figure upgrading trigger, sites, etc would get most buyers to pay slightly more (probably not what you put into it, but you already know that), but putting on a gold magwell isn't going to be as popular and may actually hinder you selling it laterComment

I would rather pay the 1100 vs shipping it in, waiting, etc. That comes in for way more than 1100 after install, waiting, etc. A 500 round gun is basically brand new.
But to each their own. I feel part of it is also what type of shooter you are. Some guys buy guns to collect for enjoyment some guys are high volume shooters.
As someone who probably shoots close to 2k a month of 9mm alone, the extra on the tuned gun is nothing vs shooting enjoyment.Last edited by static2126; 04-21-2015, 11:55 AM.Comment
