So i keep all my handguns in my safe in the house and i usually keep them attached to the inside of the door with some cloth holsters i stapled up, but the holsters dont fit any of my guns when I attach a light to them. So i need a better system for hanging them on the inside of the door. Anyone have any clever ideas?

A little different approach that I use.
I have a pegboard cut out that fits the entire inside of my safe door. I just use metal hooks and hang some of my pistols upside down by the inside of the trigger guard.
For a select few of my favorite pistols that I just can't leave upside down. I use a compact plate dryer rack (local hardware store about $6 or so) and have them lined up on the top shelf of my safe.Comment

I was planning on buying some of these to solve a similar problem. They aren't the cheap DIY solution but I think they'd make a very low profile option. Already trying to jam enough stuff into my safe, so in my mind less is more.
Exactly as it sounds. This package deal comes with two Magnum Mounts for when just one mount wont cut it! Package Contains: 2x Magnum Mount
The other option would be to go to the hardware store and get a roll of adhesive industrial strength Velcro. Install strips of it inside the door and then buy some cheap Velcro backed holsters designed to fit into CCW bags. I have this MSM Wrap holster and it fits my XD-45 with TLR-1 no problem.
Made for bags with loop / pile interior zones, this pouch was originally sized to fit combat pistols, but also fits rifle magazines, "flat" electronics like smartphones, and more. After using many hook backed holsters that always seemed to snag on the front sight during a draw, we came up with this one to offer clean draws even on full sized pistols with suppressor sights and or tac-lights. As shown, the wrap holster works great on compact pistols as well. Since the whole pouch is made of VELCRO® Brand ONE-WRAP® you can get creative with the shape such as making a slight cone shape resulting in a reasonable opening, but a tight fit when the item is pushed in all the way. If any further small tweaks are desired, the one-wrap material is easy to modify by cutting. A jump strap is included for when extra retention is needed, yet is very easy to remove when not needed. This works especially well on this setup where one can release the jump strap by moving the pull tab or using their finger to break to connection. To clarify, purchasing 1 unit is a single one-wrap pouch with no other items included. Made In the USA by Tactical Tailor. WARNING:Due to the highly customizable nature of this design care must be given to the setup when using with a pistol to make sure no extra overlaping material will get in the way of the trigger during draw or reholstering. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! Like many holsters, long term use may scuff items inserted into this pouch.sigpicComment

If you don't have a material in your safe that is fuzzy enough to hold piece of Velcro securely then buy some office carpet at Home Depot and glue it to the door or where ever else you want to secure the pistols. Acorn pistol holsters cost about $5-6 each when bought in quantity. Ebay sells them. They secure great to the office carpet. The advantage of this arrangement is that you can re-arrange them as you please. I have never had one fall off.
The only thing you have to make sure of is that the door will close without hitting anything. And so it goes...Comment
