I hear simply holding one allows you to transcend the fifth dimension so you can high five yourself for owning one.
Whoa, hanging on. It's not like we are comparing the python to the VP9. [emoji6]

actually they were higher in value before the show started haha. they have actually leveled out a bit since. my dad sold his pythons about 20 years ago for a tidy sum...its the only gun he is still angry to have parted with (and that includes an armsel striker).

Sounds like you really want it. So buy it. Pythons are beautiful guns, great shooter with collector value. Snap it up and enjoy it.

I hope you and the seller can come to an agreement OP. It would be a nice addition to your herd if you can swing it. I have wanted a Python, but at the present prices, will probably never purchase one.

I bought one in excellent shape several years ago for $750 - the most I'd ever spent on a handgun at that time. I have never regretted it, though I shoot an original Trooper and Model 19 more. It did not have the box, etc, though. My cousin's Python was the first centerfire handgun I ever shot.

If you want a Python buy it there is nothing like a Python if that is what you would like.

Thanks. Collector items so go up in market price. And down. And up. And down. Collector markets are highly speculative. Just because something is "rare and/or no longer being made just implies a vertical supply curve. The amount is fixed. Price is set entirely by the buyers. And it's here that the value is highly subjective.

The value of an item will be in its usefulness (ie utility). I've no doubt that the Python is a fine revolver. I have an older smith 686. It's an amazing revolver. I do appreciate quality. I love my sig 228 and 226. One day (roster determinant) I will get a high end 1911.

But to say iron clad guarantee it will "go up in value" is the same as saying a rookie babe Ruth baseball card always will. Oh sure, there will always be people that want it, but isn't like you can take it to the ballpark and get it autographed anymore.

If someone is buying a shooter or a safe queen wall hanger will matter a lot. A collector owns something to own something, not necessarily use it. And besides, when you consider inflation...it might hold its price relative to, perhaps, but will it sell for considerably more? Well, I'll argue not really.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

If it has the original box and papers, it's an outstanding buy.
If it were 1970's or earlier blued model it would be a STEAL!!

Got my python recently and I paid a premium for it. I got it because I want it and can afford it. Besides, what's an extra $500 or even $1000 for something you hold dearly and will use for a very long time? You can easily make that back. There is money to be made eveywhere and anywhere at anytime. But a python deal does not come by everyday. Buy it!
