are these things pretty rare? and were they a limited run on them? you think sig will put out more? they do look nice

I read the P229R with OD frames were an overrun for an agency and that only ~200 were made.

+1 for SoCalGunner. Contract overrun from SIG. I never could get the name of the agency out of the customer service folks at SIG. Rumor on the street was Nuclear Regulatory Commission security teams.
