    GSG-5PK

Any idea when we might start seeing this new GSG-5PK in the shops? The ones that I have called don't even have it on their radar.

That's because as is, that pistol is highly illegal in California. Only a few select shops are even accepting AR pistols. This gun will require a new mag lock to be designed for it.

Is it the detachable mag that's the issue?

Yes. Det. mag outside of the grip is an AW.
Discussion about AR pistols here, apply to the GSG-5 pistol as well.

yep...I read that and forgot about it...so...a raddlock type mag device would work nicely.

It isn't on the roster. Even if you lock the mag to avoid AW status, it would have to be transferred in as a single shot pistol to exempt it from the list.

              Indeed.

Too many hoops to jump through for this pistol.
