    M&P shield 9mm - impressed

I shot my buddies shield today. Besides the really long trigger where you are uncertain where it will break, it was a really nice gun.

Pretty darn accurate for its tiny size, 300 rounds no issues through it.

I would recommend it. I like how it is a single stack too. Pretty ergo friendly imo.

How old is your buddy's Shield? I believe the early ones suffered from squishy triggers.

The trigger on mine keeps getting better, and with only maybe 250 rounds through it, I wouldn't say it's broken in yet. I wasn't expecting it to be so accurate and fun to shoot, but it is becoming one of my favorites.

The LCI is fugly from the side, but it disappears while shooting. I only notice it when someone else is shooting it, and then I'm like, Dear God, what is that thing?

Nice pistol. Add an APEX trigger and it becomes a Very Nice Pistol!

Apparently the earlier Shields were hit or miss on the trigger. Mines fairly new and for this class of gun I think the trigger is very good. Always impressed with how easy it is to shoot well.

Yeah the LCI is huge, but not noticable when shooting. He had a newer shield, the trigger isn't squishy but it is still a lot of creep from what I am used to (comparing to tuned CZ and 1911). I will recommend that he look into the apex trigger, thanks guys. What really surprised me the most was how it felt in the hand, manageable recoil, and how accurate it was when I did my part.

Yeah, I put about 450 rounds through it last weekend in a class, which is the most I've done in one continuous session with this particular pistol. Unlike other subcompacts, even the 9c, this gun has the recoil system tuned perfectly, imho, and it's not unpleasant to shoot at all. Factory trigger is a bit long on the reset, which some may dislike, but otherwise it's not horrible. I'm still on the fence if I want to Apex DCAEK the trigger or not to match my FS and C, but we'll see.

I was pleasantly surprised that this gun really is much more comfortable to shoot on an extended basis than I'd expect from a sub-compact carry gun. Just watch out for magazine pinch!!!

Bottom right kind of looks like a "blue gun" used for training in close quarters / fighting and for holster making.

I've sold a ton of em and for CCW they are great for being so light and skinny. But I finally took mine to the range yesterday and it was just "meh". Maybe I'll put it on the CCW or maybe I'll trade it. Haven't made up my mind if I like it. It is accurate and an easy carry, grip shape is a bit weird and it is a bit snappy as well.

I can shoot mine good to about 15 yrds, after that the grouping is non-existent. BUT STILL ON TARGET.

Great gun as a overall package. I don't carry but at the range it has been a rock solid platform

I have never shot the shield but I did hold one and field strip it for cleaning. Handling it (minus shooting), the build quality didn't impress me. Also that little lever in the magwell (is it striker disconnect?) you have to push down or pull up seemed a little weird....like one more thing in the system that could fail.

A lot of guns have that little lever.. Unfortunately. I know Ruger Used it in a few of their semi autos
