as luck would have it, when I did a field strip of my Px4 Storm last night, for some reason the cap at the end of the guide rod decided to fly out of its housing
after inspecting the cap, i noticed that the plastic "ears" of the cap, which hold it in place inside the guide rod had pretty much wore right off
now the cap won't stay in place, can't support the pressure of the spring, so whenever I insert the spring and bushing it just flies right off and won't hold...as luck would have it, nobody seems to have the replacement cap in stock...doing a bit of research online and this seems to be a common complaint among Px4 owners, the plastic cap doesn't seem to last very long
a gentlemen named Steve Bedair made a stainless guide rod he offered, but, I think health issues have sidelined his business...even finding the entire replacement guiderod, spring assembly is a task
anyone got any ideas or remedies i can look into?
