10mm Glocks - Weapon Light Malfunctions?

So I've read in many places online and have heard it mentioned in a few different videos (by professional trainers) that weapon mounted lights sometimes cause malfunctions on 40 cal glocks, both Gen 3 and Gen 4. Included Surefire (X300 series), Streamlight (TLR series), and even Glock's own light (that was supposedly made to fix the issues). Some work arounds (not real fixes) were to use stiffer recoil springs (with more coils), updated followers, stiffer magazine springs, and not tightening the light down as much (ex only use fingers on TLR).

Does anyone know if these problems apply to the 10mm Glocks as well given the larger frames? I don't see as many spring swaps available for the 10mm Glock and don't think leaving the light on loose is a good idea for a 10mm given the increased recoil.

EDIT: New question: anyone have recommendations for a bright and reliable (b/c 10mm) outdoors pistol light aside from the X300 Ultra and TLR1 HL? I also saw a few other streamlight offerings but the lamp was too big imo for mounting on a pistol.

I've experienced the phenomenon on 3rd Gen .40s, but never had it happen on my G20SF with either an Insight M3, M3X or Streamlight TLR-1.

I have only tried a TLR-1, but I have not had any issues with my G20SF's with the light on the frame. I have shot it a fair amount, but mostly with mid-range SD style loads (1150-1200fps 180gr), not a great deal with nuke style loads (1200+fps 200gr, etc.).

My TLR2 tends to wander around but it still works under 10mm conditions.

I run a tlr-1 on my G35 and my G23, I've never had any issues.

Had a TLR-1 on my G20SF with stock recoil spring and a 22 lb wolff spring, never had any issues.

I run lights and a green lazer on my Glock 20s and never a problem. Nothing at the top limit, but stout rounds.

I think the Large Frames of the Glock 20 and 21 probably don't flex as much as the mid-frame (smaller) Glock 22 in .40 caliber. Just a guess.

That was with the gen 3 only if i recall. Glock fixed it by sending g22 owners new mag springs if i recall correctly

What light is that on your FNX 45?

Forgive my ignorance but why would a light on the frame affect the firing cycle on a gun?

New, sort of, shooter so I'm still learning a lot about all these accessories and stuff that weren't available 40+ years ago.

I've never had any problem running my Gen 3 Glock 23 with a TLR-1. Tightened it firm but not crushing the frame.

I did have a problem with two consecutive Inforce APL's breaking on my XD-45 so I can't see them holding up to .40 recoil very well if you are looking at alternative weapon lights.

long story short, for glocks in particular, it changes the flex of the frame, which affects the way/speed at which it cycles, which can in turn lead to a malfunction. it can also slightly distort the frame which will also affect function. for other guns, it could be quite a few things, but i'm not 100% sure about the specifics for each case. or if it's something like an inertia based shotgun (hanging lights and stuff on a benelli m2 comes to mind), adding stuff to it changes the inertia of the shotgun, which then changes it's ability to function. i could go on, but i think this gets the general idea across.
