Trying to decide between these 3 and I can't decide, especially now that SW has their new promotion. It's not really a budget issue, but I do like "bang for buck" deals. Since these probably wouldn't be range toys, I'm only concerned with how well they function as CCW pistols.

Did you forget to post "which three"? -

I voted for the Shield. I think it's the perfect weight and size for a ccw gun. It's small enough to conceal but big enough to get a proper grip on it.
I don't think the SA EMP is more reliable than the other guns. It's a nice gun, but for ccw I would prefer a lightweight polymer gun.Originally posted by G. Michael HopfHard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times.Comment

Are you referring to the 3 free mags promo? According to S&W website, the 3 free mags excludes the Shield. It's asterisked in fine print.Originally posted by Soginatornow that SW has their new promotion
I'm certainly not trying to dissuade you, I own a shield .40 cal, love it.Comment

I don't have any of those guns. The SD9 will probably have 10 rounders. The Shield has less. I do not know about the EMP.
I voted for the Shield because I already have a mid-sized gun that is equivalent to theSD9, and the Shield would make a better CCW gun. If this was my first gun purchase I would probably get the SD9 even though it was a little bigger. The most likely scenario where you would use a gun is at home. You shouldn't need to worry about size at home.

Oh well that is a bummer. The mags were a metaphorical cherry on top of the ice cream, so it's not the end of the world. It certainly wouldn't be the complete deciding factor. So far the shield has 100% of the votes. Is this because of bang for buck or is it the most reliable/accurate of the group? Are you referring to the 3 free mags promo? Not for nothing you could find yourself a 9mm shield in the marketplace and if the savings is there, use the delta to purchase additional magazines. You may even find that your seller already has more than the 2 factory mags. Just a thought.Oh well that is a bummer. Maybe it's just me but I've seen a small uptick in panic selling of sub-compacts since the Peruta En Banc order. There might be a good deal out there for you.Comment

This is definitely true. And I have seen the same as well. The reason I don't care all that much for the mags is since this is a CCW pistol, I doubt I would be carrying more than 2 mags anyway. And it's not really a range toy for me. The only reason the extra mags might make a difference is when I'm breaking it in and don't want to spend a lot of time reloading lolNot for nothing you could find yourself a 9mm shield in the marketplace and if the savings is there, use the delta to purchase additional magazines. I hear you. When I took mine to the range for the first time, It was quite the pain to constantly reload the single six and seven round included magazines.
After ~300+ rounds, I swapped over to using my G17 (1992) for which I have multiple HCMs pre-ban.Comment
