'Murcan vs German SIG frames... instruct me

So I scored a new-to-me SIG P220 Carry. Love the feel & balance of the 4" upper on FS frame. Feels like it was made for my hand. Can't wait to get this bad boy to the range this Saturday.

So what exactly is the difference between a German & American made frame? More desirable? Less? Doesn't really matter?

i always thought it was cool for the older 220s to have "made in west germany"

I have a W. German built Sig and a couple of U.S. made Sigs. All three have been great guns. No issues with any of them, but the W. German built Sig does have a cool factor since W. Germany does not exist anymore.

I've had this same question. Is it just the cool factor or is there a quality control difference?

The early US frames were pretty crappy- out of spec holes and things like that. They are much improved now. If I had a choice between a German or a US frame I'd pick the German one.
The current US frames are forged in Texas and finished at the factory in NH.

I'm not sure if it's a German/American thing or a Alloy/Poly frame thing... but I'm more accurate with my German framed 220 and 229 than I am with my American 2022???

              I wouldn't want a Merkin Sig frame.

Ok, maybe for conceal carry I would.

Well, mine is w German, so, naturally, those are superior and much sought after.
