    Used HK USP 45C tryout

I had this gun over a year, and just got around to firing it off yesterday. I bought it used, looked almost new anyway with the LEM conversion already in it.

Out the gate I had a FTF on the last round in the first magazine full. I might have limp-wristed, not sure. Was shooting Buffalo Bore 185gr Barnes. Rapid fired the second magazine and it went ok.

I have to say I'm liking the LEM a lot better than I thought I would. I forgot I wasn't shooting SA during the rapid sequence.

I concluded the ftf was a quirk that had to be my "1 in 5000" round HK failure, just happened earlier than statistically predicted. Ok, I'll shoot it some more, but for now I have a lot of confidence in this gun.

edit: To clear up, my "FTF" was just a failure to go completely into battery.

How many rounds through it? Care to field strip it and post some pictures? HKs shouldn't care if you limp wrist them, mine doesn't. If it's not heavily used it might just need a good cleaning and a light coat of lube. Recoil spring should be good for 10,000+ rounds.

Your right, I didn't look into it enough. I can try and intentionally limp-wrist, try another magazine if it occurs again, pop the extractor out and clean it, take the offending round and reload it in another mag part way down and see if it dooes it again, etc. I have 4 mags to try, two of them are from my unfired HK45 which will work in the USP compact. BTW, my full size 45 USP is also unfired, but the mags won't fit in the compact.

Anyone who has ever seen my photos will tell you I'm pretty bad at that craft. If I see something seemingly amiss, I'll give it a try.

I wouldn't worry about it too much unless it becomes an issue. Could have just been an out of spec round/casing.
