Possible 1911 paper weight?

Gentlemen.

On impulse, I snagged a complete 1911 para pro comp 9mm upper. Appropriately priced.

I'm partial to Para guns, and because all(new at least) have ramped barrels, I thought an ejector swap, link, mags and slide fitment would be all that would be required to swap onto a standard(45) para frame. Making it a dedicated 9mm.

Other than a trip to a qualified 1911 smith to address any hiccups, what am I missing?

Old post, but 1911forum would probably have more 1911 people to be able to answer your question. There are a few people that can help here as well though.

Saw that and made note of the potential problems.

Most there don't understand the restrictions of CA, and how we have to make do.

The usual consensus is, buy a new pistol.

In my case, both the frame and upper were cheap and it can be accomplished under 800 and Im hoping some of the headache will be avoided with the use of a rmaped barrel, standard to paras.

As you have noted, the big issue is having the frame cut to accommodate the ramped 9mm barrel. As you already have that, know about the ejector, simple fitting of the new bits should allow a straight forward swap between calibers when you feel like it.
