I hear and agree with the FBI reports because it's just fact that one hit to the chest doesn't hit anything important then another a half inch away hits the heart and they Go down so yes ultimately more bullets MO betta....so by that logic G 26 or xd 9 because even in Cali they hold a round or two more than a shield or I shouldn't have purchased anything after 2000 and only shoot my Beretta with 15 round mags my dad and I purchased in the nineties....different argument Moss

Sgt. Ernie Savage: Good morning, Sergeant Major.
Sergeant Major Basil Plumley: How do you know what kind of goddamn day it is?

Sergeant Ernie Savage: Beautiful morning, Sergeant!

We're not talking about Berettas, we're talking about shields

Correct so in my opinion to the OP 40 cause you can go 9 but the 9 you can't go 40

If you are listing that as your CCW, calibe conversions might be iffy.

People confuse me. My .40 shield aND .40 pro ported are easy to shoot. People talk about how it's a tough round to shoot. Then we hear how people just love a 10mm. That doesn't make any sense at all unless your saying the 40 has worse recoil then a 10mm.

Then we have .45's lol. I guess it's a imo thing because I had no issues when I qualified with these guns. Like I said maybe it's a size thing. I'm a big dude so maybe that's why it's easy to shoot.

People list their guns acquired through .25ACP SSE and converted back to normal. So far, only the Ventura Sheriff makes it an issue.

              That's huge.

I know you all think you're all Wild Bill Hickok, but your average ccw holder is much less trained than an FBI agent at worst, and about as good at best.
Does the FBI report say it too? Or is it Hollywood made you think so?

                  1. I said "might".

                  2. I said that if it has the minimum penetration of 12-18"

                  3. You're dreaming if you think that the average person is somehow more skilled than the average FBI agent. The keyword is "average".

Any by some means you indeed are more skilled than the average FBI agent, you would benefit even more from going from .40 to 9mm in terms of speed and accuracy judged only against yourself.

" a recent use-of-force class I was instructing for a Public Risk Management group, the topic of firearms training frequency came up. The discussion was prompted by the fact that during the latest round of FBI suspect interviews conducted for the third book in the Officer Assaulted and Murdered trilogy (“Violent Encounters”), it was revealed that those suspects believed that police officers trained between two and three times a week with their firearms. In reality, most police departments only train about two times a year, averaging less than 15 hours annually. In contrast to our frequency of training, those same suspects revealed that they practiced on average 23 times a year (or almost twice a month) with their handguns.

During a poll taken during this class which represented about a half dozen Florida law enforcement agencies, I asked how many train more than twice a year. No hands went up. When asked how many train or qualify with their duty guns only once a year. Everyone raised their hands. Hence, the genesis for this article."
How many average CCW holders only practice during qualifications and rarely ever after?

I have relatives (mostly in other states, who don't have to fight as hard for 2A rights, granted) who CCW and only practice a few times a year, only shoot 20 rounds of JHPs through their gun and call it reliable, and only really practice before qualifications (if they even have to). It's very common in free states for CCW holders to rarely ever practice.

There's really no point in going any further here. Nothing I say (or experts ) will change your mind.

So carry your 40 with your infallible superhuman confidence. You're most certain to land 100% of your rounds in rapid succession and all of them will be critical CNS hits.

Leave the 9mm to sissy boys like me who acknowledge that fear, stress, and human error can be real factors in me being able to defend myself, and that having those extra more controllable rounds will benefit me because I'm weak, and unskilled.

                      Yes, that is it.

I've not shot the .40, but I own the 9mm shield. It's the best handgun I've ever shot. My only criticism is that the grip material is a joke. That can be fixed with deck tape, or talon grips.

Fun gun and easy to carry. You get the feel for it very quick.
