They're not even comfortable. When I pick one up it's not like yea that's perf, I don't even shoot we'll with them. This sounds stupid but in feel like I'm missing out. Like there is something to be gained by getting a glock. Is there something I'm missing? I don't have any polymer guns right now only full size metal cz and a sig. I'm looking into a smaller polymer gun to conceal and throw in the truck and go fishing. Interested in the glock 19, but really like the way the kahr cw9 feels in my hand, even though it's single stack. Does anyone really feel really good with a glock or do you just conform to it?

They work well, and they point well for me, at least my g 27 does.
If it's UNcomfortable, if get something else.
All of my firearms feel different. Some, like my 1911, seem to fit better than others. If one didn't work for me, I wouldn't keep it.
Except my seecamp. That little b word bites hard when I shoot it, but it can go where nothing else can. So I conform to it. And bleed. Literally.
I dont see a glock that way, there's nothing magical about them. I switched over to all glock after having owned Sig and hk. My only reason behind for switching was that I wanted to get rid of safe queens. When I owned the Sig and hk, I was so scared of scratching them and put them in socks to separate them and did all of thee above to protect them. Then I realized that they are a tool that should protect you. Dropped my glock on the concrete once, and did not give a ****. I shoot well with them, never clean or lube them . Cleaned my Sig and my colt 1911 religiously, keep a $1000 gun in prestine condition. Soon it just made more sense to sell the toys and keep the tools.Comment

You pick it up, it goes bang. Buy it.
We play a shooting game. Take 3-5 pistols (and one target, usually a shoot n c for each pistol/person. 3 people, 3 guns=9 targets usually in rows fairly close so if you suck the other guys get points
), load two rounds in each mag, set it up in the table. P/U the first gun, insert mag, charge, fire at your row, two taps in each.
The best thing about the game is that you must use and quickly get used to different guns. After a while just setting them up and boring them beings on the muscle memory. Getting used to grip, point and shoot. But take your time. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.Sorry, not sorry.

I like your mindset change. I know I want a P226, but I also know that I probably won't shoot it so I'm not in any kind of a hurry to get one. I barely shoot my Vaquero because I love how nice and shiny the stainless steel is and hate getting it dirty haha.I switched over to all glock after having owned Sig and hk. I also agree with the OP. I don't really desire a Glock, but I feel like a G17 is one of those guns that everyone should own.Last edited by elsupermanny14; 03-18-2015, 1:13 AM.Comment

I have an engineer's mind, so I love them for the efficiency of design. There are only 33 parts in a Glock counting all of the individual magazine components, compared with 49 in a 1911 and 55 in a P226. If I can get the same amount of work done with 40% fewer parts, why wouldn't I?
I can field strip and reassemble my G26 in 20 seconds without trying hard. My Sig 1911, OTOH, takes about that amount of time to get the stupid slide stop plunger out. Particularly Sig P-series and HK's, I find needlessly complex.Do not give in to evil, but proceed ever more boldly against it.Comment

I shoot all my sig's regularly and my hk I just bought my first glock. a glock 30s because it packs 10 rounds of 45acp into a super small accurate pocket rocket. I am extremely happy with the purchase now I am thinking about a glock 21sfComment

I intended to get a Glock as my 1st polymer gun. It didn't feel right, but I didn't shoot it. I ended up with a XD45. I love that gun. Next was a M&P 9. I think it has the best ergos of any pistol. I didn't shoot it well.
Went to the range one day with a friend and shot his G19. Sold the M&P because I didn't want to spend $200 on a trigger kit and updated new twist barrel (M&P is ammo finicky with regards to bullet weight.) Bought a G19 and now I am happy. Get the Glock....while the buffoon in the White House prances around celebrating butt sex.Comment

Reading this thread, it sounds like the reasons people buy Glocks are the same reasons people buy linoleum flooring.
Me? I prefer tile.Last edited by Mayor McRifle; 03-18-2015, 7:33 AM.Anchors Aweigh

I had the same feeling about Glock and bought them. Then I thought to myself, why do I need Glock when I already have CZ, Sig, HK, 1911, PPQ, M&P, Kahr and so on. So I decided to sell them. I have gone through this thinking cycle for the fourth time. I bought and sold four Glocks in the course of my confusion

There is absolutely nothing in terms of shooting that I cannot do better with a Glock. It is easily my favorite handgun but I own and I own a couple of them.sigpic
