Many claim the SRT does reduce the take up slack, which is what I assume you are referring to. I have noticed it in my P226. I am picking up a P220 Equinox from jail in a week and also installing a SRT in it, as I am in my other P226. For $50 it is a nice upgrade.

If you are referring to the slack...takeup travel before beginning the actually trigger stroke...that is normal and inherent to any DA/SA design

The SRT will have no effect on this as it only shortens the froward travel of the trigger, to the reset, for each successive SA shot

Check out the Grayguns P-SPIT trigger, it has a built-in over travel stop and is available for the P220. I replaced the short reach trigger that came with my P220 combat (that already had SRT installed) with it, and I'm happy with the results. There is still some take up, but this is necessary by design.

          What he said.
All SIGs will have a bit of travel before the trigger sear starts to engage.
Remember there is the internal firing pin safety that has to be disengaged.
